Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Computer Security US (the "Platform"), a free cybersecurity awareness training service owned and operated by Cleared Systems, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our Platform, including all content, functionality, training modules, quizzes, certification services, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use our Services.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account, accessing the training modules, completing quizzes, or using any part of our Services, you:

  • Acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms
  • Agree to be legally bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
  • Represent that you are at least 18 years of age or have parental/guardian consent
  • Represent that you have the authority to enter into these Terms

3. Description of Services

Computer Security US operates two platforms under these Terms:

  • computersecurity.us — Free Awareness Training: Five comprehensive modules covering threat awareness, password security, phishing prevention, data protection, and incident response. Includes knowledge assessments, certificates upon completion, and a public certificate verification system.
  • phishing.computersecurity.us — Phishing Awareness Training for Organizations: A paid platform offering simulated phishing, vishing, and smishing training for organizations. Includes employee management, training tiers, compliance reporting, and subscription billing at $1.00/employee/month.

The free training platform is provided at no cost to users. The organizational platform requires a paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time without notice.

4. User Accounts and Registration

4.1 Account Creation

To access certain features of our Services, you must create an account by providing accurate, complete, and current information including your name and email address.

4.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account information
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Ensuring the accuracy of information provided during registration
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4.3 Account Restrictions

You may not:

  • Create multiple accounts for the same individual
  • Create accounts using false or misleading information
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Transfer or sell your account to another party

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Permitted Uses

You may use our Services for lawful purposes related to cybersecurity awareness training and education.

5.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to generate fraudulent certificates or manipulate quiz results
  • Use automated systems, bots, or scripts to access the Services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers/networks connected to the Services
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Services
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission
  • Use the Services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
  • Harvest or collect information about other users without consent

6. Intellectual Property Rights

6.1 Ownership

The Services and all content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, videos, training materials, software, and certificates, are the property of Cleared Systems, LLC or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for personal, non-commercial training purposes in accordance with these Terms.

6.3 Restrictions

You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content without written permission
  • Modify or create derivative works based on our content
  • Use our content for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

6.4 Certificates

Upon successful completion of training, you receive a certificate that you may use to demonstrate your completion of our cybersecurity awareness training. The certificate remains our property, and we retain the right to revoke certificates obtained through fraudulent means.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By using our Services, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Donations and Payment Processing

8.1 Voluntary Donations

Our Services are provided free of charge. Donations are voluntary and help support the maintenance and improvement of the Platform. All donations are processed securely through third-party payment processors.

8.2 Non-Refundable

All donations are final and non-refundable except as required by law. Donations do not entitle you to any additional services, benefits, or preferential treatment.

8.3 Payment Information

We do not store credit card information. All payment data is processed securely by our third-party payment processor in compliance with industry standards.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

9.1 No Professional Advice

The training content provided through our Services is for general educational purposes only. It does not constitute professional cybersecurity advice, consultation, or recommendations specific to your organization or circumstances. You should consult with qualified cybersecurity professionals for specific guidance.

9.2 No Guarantee of Compliance

While our training covers important cybersecurity awareness topics, completion of our training does not guarantee compliance with any specific regulatory requirements, industry standards, or security frameworks. Organizations should verify their compliance obligations independently.

9.3 "As Is" Basis

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.4 No Warranty

We do not warrant that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Services are free of viruses or other harmful components
  • The results obtained from using the Services will be accurate or reliable
  • The quality of any content or materials will meet your expectations

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CLEARED SYSTEMS, LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Services
  • Any content obtained from the Services
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Security breaches or data loss

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cleared Systems, LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • Any fraudulent or illegal activity associated with your account

12. Modifications to Services and Terms

12.1 Service Changes

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Services will immediately cease
  • We may delete your account and associated data
  • Earned certificates may be retained in our verification system
  • Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.
